ELEPHANT SAFARIS
Travel through open grassland and dense forest on elephant back in search of rare game. Be on the lookout for the great one horned rhino, four species of deer, wild boar, sloth bear, leopard, bison and the big one, the Royal Bengal Tiger.

BIRD WATCHING
An early morning walk through the bush and along the Rapti River is a must to view many of the more than 450 species of exotic birds, including the Giant Hornbill, Lesser Florican and Paradise Ftycatcher. Again you will be accompanied by our experienced naturalists.

NATURE WALKS
Our trained naturalists take you to prime spots to view deer, rhino, sloth bears and other wildlife. Detailed knowledge of the wildlife and jungle will enhance your trip.

CANOEING
A traditional dugout canoe takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view birds, crocodiles and the animals of the river bank (from October through to mid-March).

JUNGLE EXCURSIONS
Guests staying longer than two nights will be taken by land rover deep into the heart of the park for a good chance to spot the rare species. (from mid-November through to May)

SWIMMING
The clear water of Rapti tempts you to swim on sunny days either before or after lunch. Or just relax beside the serene river and watch the graceful elephants taking a bath.

OBSERVATION TOWER
There are several 22 foot high wooden towers built in prime locations in the park, which offer unique chances to quietly observe the movements of animals in the wilderness.

ELEPHANT BRIEFINGS
Of all the animals, elephants are probably the most graceful. Our naturalists will show you how the elephants' meals are prepared and how they eat. They will explain the nature and habit of the elephant. If particularly interested in driving the animal, an opportunity will be provided.

EVENINGS AT THE LODGE
Evenings at the lodge are as exciting as the day's adventures. Our friendly trained naturalists and jungle guides are there to make you feel at home and tell you exciting jungle stories. This follows a breathtaking Tharu Stick dance, a cultural program performed by the ethnic groups of Chitwan, a slide show and a delicious buffet dinner. Then relax around the huge log fire and try our famous jungle cocktails.
